We're currently seeking a dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to join our Stratford, PEI team.
 
Purpose:
The Agricultural Equipment Technician independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • May attach components and adjust new farm equipment
  • Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
  • Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
  • Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment

 

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience performing service repairs
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diesel Mechanic Red Seal certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift license an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
  • Ability to use basic computer functions
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
