Are you a skilled woodworker with a passion for boats and craftsmanship?

We are a premier full-service boatyard located on the working waterfront in beautiful Portland, Maine. We’re seeking a talented Marine Woodworking Technician to help bring classic and modern vessels to life with precision, care, and an eye for detail.

From custom cabinetry and fine joinery to structural repairs and teak deck installations, you'll work on some of the most beautiful boats in the region—both power and sail.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Perform interior and exterior woodwork, including joinery, cabinetry, trim, and custom fabrication
  • Restore and repair wood components including transoms, toe rails, decking, and brightwork
  • Install bulkheads, furniture, and built-in systems to spec
  • Work from plans, sketches, or direct measurement
  • Collaborate with project managers, customers, and other trades
  • Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, accuracy, and safety

 

Qualifications:

  • Woodworking or carpentry experience (marine-specific experience preferred)
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools with confidence
  • Skilled in layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing
  • Strong understanding of marine construction and materials
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Teak and hardwood experience a plus
