Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator with proven skills operating and setting up Mazak 5-axis lathes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to producing high-quality parts that meet exacting specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor Mazak 5-axis lathes to produce precision components.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers.
  • Select, install, and align tooling as required.
  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and program edits (Mazatrol and/or G-code).
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and production schedules.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience operating Mazak Integrex 5-axis lathes.
  • Proficiency with Mazatrol and G-code programming/editing.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Assets

  • Experience with other CNC equipment (mills, turning centers).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.
  • Journeyman Machinist or equivalent trade certification.

 

Work Environment

  • Full-time, [day/afternoon/night] shift.
  • Overtime as required.

  • Hourly rate: $30–38/hr based on skills and experience.
