Branch Manager

If you know anything about the construction business, you know that getting the right products to the right site on time and safely is the benchmark of success. It is both challenging and rewarding work. We are a distributor of construction materials. We supply roofing, building envelopes, and below grade materials. We want folks with great people skills on our team because, in the end – people make all the difference.

The Branch Manager is responsible for meeting the corporate objectives. The role is ensures that procedures and safety protocols are followed and identifies employees who require support, training, and corrective action. The Branch Manager communicates with each person respectfully and in consideration of their learning style, and directs the overall function and activities of the branch to meet and exceed customer expectations and employee engagement continually and simultaneously. This role works in conjunction with other corporate departments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hiring and training employees to provide customers with a high level of customer service
  • Ensure all branch personnel understand the overall company
  • Reinforce respectful communication between all departments
  • Set reasonable goals with deadlines for completion and monitor results
  • Make decisions while exhibiting sound and accurate judgment
  • Look for improvements and promote quality, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Maintain positive employee relations to keep morale high at the branch
  • Act as the liaison between Operations and Sales
  • Ensure all daily tasks are performed and provided tools are being utilized by staff to maintain a reasonable workflow of the branch operations
  • Research and resolve high-level customer and/or order problems
  • Resolve high-level inventory discrepancies
  • Develop and foster excellent customer relations
  • Earn an acceptable rate of return on sales after expenses
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment is provided and maintained for all employees and customers
  • Direct all operational, customer service, and admin processes in the branch ensuring compliance with the company practices and procedures

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing a team - preferably in the building supply and/or construction industry
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with a natural ability to respond quickly and accurately to inquiries, handle a fast-paced environment, and keep a sense of humor
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Leadership skills for the successful day to day management of a branch
  • Ability to exceed customer expectations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and ERP system
