Marine Service Writer - Portland, ME

We are currently looking for a Marine Services Writer to join our team as Portland’s premier marine service hub!

This vital role serves as the primary liaison between our customers and the service team. You will manage work orders, provide estimates, and ensure clear communication with customers throughout the service process.

Immediate start

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for service customers, assessing their needs and providing guidance on repairs and maintenance
  • Create and manage work orders, detailing requested services, timelines, and costs
  • Collaborate with technicians and service managers to track job progress and provide updates to customers
  • Prepare accurate estimates for labor and parts, ensuring transparency in pricing
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and job statuses
  • Coordinate scheduling of service appointments and communicate expected completion times
  • Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assist in ordering parts and managing inventory as needed
  • Ensure all service work meets industry standards and company quality expectations

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marine service, boatyard operations, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with marine systems, engines, and boat maintenance an asset
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including service management software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, customers, and management
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various weather conditions
