Crew Member – Labourer
Our Labourers are responsible for manual tasks on commercial, residential, or industrial construction/maintenance sites. They assist with tasks such as loading and unloading materials, digging, mixing concrete, erecting scaffolding/pallet racking, and supporting skilled tradespeople. Their daily duties may vary based on business needs, and they report to their Crew Leader.

Responsibilities:

Assist Tradespeople: Support skilled tradespeople such as welders, carpenters, electricians, or plumbers by completing tasks as needed.

Material Handling: Load, unload, transport, and properly place materials at work areas.

Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, leveling ground, and setting up scaffolding/pallet racking or barricades.

Demolition: Assist with demolition work, including removing materials and sorting debris.

Operate Equipment: Use basic tools like shovels and wheelbarrows, and occasionally light machinery.

General Maintenance: Clean work areas, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, organized environment.

Follow Instructions: Work independently and as part of a team by following supervisor directions.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands: Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in general construction or maintenance

Must be comfortable with working in heights

Detail-oriented and thorough in completing tasks

Safety-conscious and compliant with workplace regulations

Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor

Able to follow instructions precisely and work independently

Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Proactive, self-motivated, calm, and patient under pressure

Driver's licence

Must have own a vehicle

Most of our work sites are in the Ottawa region with occasional out-of-town jobs.
