Our company is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead complex structural-steel projects from pre-construction through turnover. You will provide strategic leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, oversee budget and schedule performance, and ensure compliance with Canadian building codes, CSA standards, and OH&S regulations. This position is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives on delivering high-value work safely and profitably.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage site work schedules, ensuring all environmental and safety requirements are met before project initiation.
  • Prepare and track budgets, manage costs, and ensure resource allocation aligns with project needs.
  • Oversee contract administration, manage relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure project compliance and quality.
  • Initiate and participate in meetings with clients to resolve issues, address design changes, and ensure project alignment with client expectations.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for your team, providing guidance and support to foster a high-performing work environment.
  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to approved design specifications and standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
  • Generate and submit progress claims and invoices to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience managing large civil projects with a strong track record of successful project delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Business or equivalent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Gold Seal certification would be an asset
  • Proficient in Excel, Auto Cad, Bluebeam and BIM/3-D model coordination (Tekla, Revit or similar)
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and excellent time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, self-motivated, and committed to high standards of quality and integrity
